Our Audience:
Our readers have a wide
variety of interest in worm farming and composting. Many are simple hobbyists,
interested in creating compost for their own personal use, others are
worm composting to reduce their personal imprint on the environment
by eliminating their organic wastes in a more environmentally friendly
manner. Others still manage small scaled worm farms to produce live
worms for fishing. At the opposite end of the spectrum we have readers
that are purely interested in the business side of things, from small
home based businesses, to full blown commercial scale enterprises
selling worm composting systems, worms, worm by products and other
related good and services.
A recent survey of readers
showed;
-
21% are interested from
a purely environmental perspective.
-
36% are interested from
a business perspective.
-
25% are interested from
a home gardening / composting perspective.
-
14% are interested from
a fisherman's perspective (live bait).
-
4% are interested from
"other" perspectives (includes live food products for
reptiles etc).
As you can see, readers
have a broad range of interests in the field, making this niche
specific publication attractive to a very wide and diverse range of potential
customers.
Our Distribution
& Reach:
The "2008/09 Worm
Farming Almanac" is set to become the largest and most
comprehensive publication of it's type in this industry. Our initial
distribution channels include providing the Almanac, first to all
businesses listed within it. Secondly, all readers of the "Worm
Farming Secrets" free newsletter (the largest publication in
the vermiculture industry - currently being read by over 11,872 readers at the time of
this writing) will also be provided with a complementary copy of the
first edition.
We are also licensing
rights to individual businesses to sell the print publication as an
additional revenue source for their own business. The print publication
comes with a RRP of $27 and this allows those business to sell the
Almanac to their existing & future customers and keep the
profits (minus printing & binding costs). Whilst there is a nominal
licensing fee attached for those wishing to include this in their
product range, we will be waving that fee for every business listed in
the 2008/09 edition.
It is estimated that this
distribution network will push the publication in front of an additional
20,000 - 30,000 targeted readers over the following twelve months. The
most attractive factor from an advertisers perspective is that each
of those readers are pre-qualified buyers, having independently
purchased the Almanac. Not only are they actively interested in the
industry, they are already spending money on related products & services.
